What are Scentual Candles made from?
All of our candles are made with 100% natural plant (Soy, Coconut & Palm). We use phthalate-free fragrance oils, lead-free cotton wicks, and recyclable containers. Our candles are also 100% vegan and cruelty-free.
Are your candles safe to burn around pets?
Yes. All Scentual Candles are made from non-toxic, phthalate-free, petroleum-free ingredients and feature lead-free wicks. They’re safe for general use in homes with pets, but always keep candles out of reach and never leave them unattended.
What makes your candles different?
We use a 10% fragrance load (much higher than standard candles), so our scents are bold and long-lasting. All candles are hand-poured in Sydney and made in small batches with eco-conscious materials and premium oils.
How long should I burn my candle?
We recommend burning your candle for no more than 3 hours at a time. This helps the wax pool evenly and prevents tunneling. Always trim the wick to 5mm before relighting.
How can I make my candle last longer?
Trim the wick before each burn, let the melt pool reach the edges on the first use, and avoid burning in draughty areas. Store candles away from direct sunlight to preserve scent.
Why is my candle tunneling?
Tunneling happens when a candle is extinguished before a full melt pool forms. Let the candle burn until the wax melts edge to edge (especially on the first few burns).
How strong are your scents?
Very strong — each candle is made with a 10% fragrance load. Our scent throw is noticeable even in larger rooms. If you prefer milder scents, try our smaller size candles or sampler tins.
Which candle scents are best for relaxation?
Try Lavender, Vanilla Caramel, or our Vanilla Patchouli & Sandalwood — these are all soothing and ideal for calming rituals, meditation, or winding down in the evening.
Do your candles smell artificial?
No — we use premium fragrance oils that mimic natural aromas without the synthetic, overpowering effect. Many of our scents also include essential oil components.
Do you ship across Australia?
Yes, we ship Australia-wide! Orders are dispatched from Sydney and usually arrive within 3–7 business days depending on location. You can view our Shipping Info page for full details.
Can I send a candle as a gift?
We are happy to ship purchases as gifts and add a personal note, however we do not provide extra gift wrapping. Extra or excess packaging does not align with our commitment to the environment - we keep packaging to a bare minimum.
What if my candle arrives damaged?
Please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your order and include a photo of the damage and of the box it came in with consignment number visible. We’ll organise a replacement or refund right away — your satisfaction is our priority.
Are your candles eco-friendly?
Yes. We only use sustainable plant waxes, recyclable packaging, and reusable glass jars. All products are made locally with minimal waste.
Are your wicks lead-free?
Yes — all wicks are made from lead-free cotton, so they burn clean and safe.
Is your packaging recyclable?
